Andrew Hay 2nd in Thailand

STRIC's Andrew Hay with a 50 minute 12km run at Laguna.STRIC member Andrew Hay blazed his way through the field in one of the toughest categories, Male 30-34 in the Laguna Phuket Triathlon- Sunday December 2, 2007. It was another great day in Thailand Tri history with a perfect day for racing and a sold out, star studded field. 700 Triathletes including several world champions hit the warm, smooth waters early. STRIC was well represented with not less than 8 members racing on the day. Andrew had a killer day with a 29.10 swim followed by a 29th bike place taking 1:32:56 in one of the region's toughest bike courses. The Laguna Phuket is famous for hills, a few big, challenging climbs. The good thing is they are early in the 55km ride and once out of the way the course has just about everything else, wide open highway stretches, narrow roads through towns and rolling country roads. Andrew followed the ride with a 50.13 12km run time and an overall time of 2 hours and 55 minutes. Congratulants Andrew, well done.
